A tale connected to the terroir
In the heart of Franciacorta, our winery represents the meeting of tradition and innovation, with the aim of creating wines of the highest class, designed to satisfy the most refined palates and wine enthusiasts. Here, the terroir is not just a place, but an essential ingredient that gives our Franciacorta its unmistakable character and identity.
The land of our vineyards
The Franciacorta area is located in Lombardy, in the province of Brescia, a unique territory that covers an area of about 240 square kilometers. This region, located north of Brescia, between Lake Iseo and the city, features extraordinary geological and climatic characteristics that make it ideal for producing high-quality wines. The landscape is characterized by morainic hills created by glaciers during the last ice age, a soil rich in minerals and stones that imparts a unique minerality and complexity to the wines. The altitude ranges from 150 to 250 meters above sea level, with a temperate microclimate influenced by the proximity of Lake Iseo, which mitigates temperature fluctuations and ensures optimal conditions for grape ripening. Historically, this region has a long winemaking tradition dating back to the Middle Ages, when Benedictine monks began cultivating vines in these lands, developing winemaking techniques that are still the foundation of Franciacorta production today.
